The Heat is Gone

Off the Cuff Comment:
I read with regret that the co-founders of the HOT Market announced that they no longer have time to do it and that it will be ending. Since I understand many younger families have enjoyed the HOT Market, I don’t understand why the young professionals have not stepped up to the plate and offered their time to continue a very valuable community access which is probably as much oriented toward young families with children as are the new soccer fields. Where are you, young professionals?

My Comment:
My guess is that those young professionals with children are too busy with their own families to organize such an event. Those without children are probably more than willing to organize a HOT Market, if it included massive amounts of alcoholic beverages and flip cup tournaments. I bet some grandparent type retirees would be great at organizing such an event, and as luck has it, Bartlesville is full of them!

I think that turning the HOT Market into a Flip Cup Tournament would be a great idea. We could bring in teams from all over the region and it would be a big boost for the local economy. Hopefully, the new Bartlesville Sports Commission is already considering this idea.
